Just For You Meets Country Floral

Hello Friends!

I'm back after having my right knee replaced and feeling great.  I'm getting around really well but the stairs still scare me.  I'm able to go up and down them but feel more secure when my husband is  in front of me when going down the stairs and behind me when coming up the stairs.  Now that I'm older, I wish I had a ranch house instead of a split level house. Other than the stairs, I'm doing better than I thought I would.  Stairs always scared me even before I had the surgery but more now and probably will until my knee is completely healed.

My card for today was made with two items from the Sale-A-Bration brochure that is still available to earn with a $50 item.  Sale-A-Bration will end on March 31st and items are while supplies last.  Some of the items have already sold out so if you like todays card, place an order in my online store for $50 or more and select the items used on this card.

This card also features In Colors that will be retiring this June when the new Annual Catalog comes out.

The main focus of this card is the beautiful Country Floral Dynamic Textured Impression Embossing Folder that I think looks stunning when colored with just a touch of ink.  I used my sponged dauber to color the flowers with Berry Burst Classic Ink.  I also used the same ink to stamp the greeting from the Meant To Be Stamp Set and cut it out with  the Layering Circles Framelits Dies.  I folded over some of the Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon and layered it under the scallop sentiment that I popped up with stampin' dimensionals.

The sentiment on the inside is from another Sale-A-Bration stamp set called Part Of My Story which has 6 lovely sentiments.  I'm all for stamps sets that have sentiments which is something you can never have enough of.

Measurements:
Berry Burst Card Base - 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 scored at 4 1/2 and scrap for scalloped circle
Powder Pink Layer - 4 x 5 1/4 (cut 2)
Whisper White Layer - 3 3/4 x 5 and scrap for greeting
Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon approximately 9"

This was a quick and easy card to make and not only did I use items from the Sale-A-Bration brochure, but  also In-Colors that will be expiring in June.  If you like the colors, you may want to stock up now with the Berry Burst and Powder Pink cardstock and the Berry Burst Classic Ink and Refill before they're gone for good.  Also get your Sale-A-Bration items while supplies last and/or before the promotion ends on March 31st.

Happy Birthday

 Hello Friends!

I hope everyone had a nice weekend.  It's hard to believe this is the last week in February.  It's amazing how quickly the days/months go by!

So, here we are, celebrating another birthday.  Everyone has lots of birthday, so why not have loads of birthday cards on hand, and here's one that is quick and easy to make.

I used the Hello Cupcake Stamp Set that you can earn free from the Sale-a-Bration brochure with a $50 order from either the Annual or Occasions catalogs.

I stamped the cupcake on whisper white cardstock and cut it out with the Stitched Shapes Framelits Die and framed it onto a Lemon Lime Twist scallop layer cut from the Layering Squares Framelits Dies.  The Gingham Gala Designer Series Paper was also layered on the Lemon Lime Twist Card Base.

I took a scrap piece of Early Expresso Cardstock and placed it on top of a piece of the Multipurpose Adhesive Sheet and ran it through the Big Shot with the words from the Well Written Framelit Dies.  The multipurpose adhesive sheets make it easy to adhesive delicate pieces onto your cards.

The sentiment is from the Perennial Birthday Stamp Set and it was stamped with Early Expresso Classic Ink.  I added 3 lemon lime twist sequins from the Gingham Gala Adhesive-Backed Sequins pack and added a strip of the Gingham Gala Designer Series Paper to coordinate with the front of the card.

Measurements:
  • Lemon Lime Twist Card Base - 8 1/2 " x 5 1/2" scored at 4 1/4"
  • Gingham Gala Designer Series Paper - 2" x 5 1/2" and 3/4" x 5 1/4"
  • Whisper White Layer  - 31/4" x 3 1/4" to stamp cupcake and to cut out with Stitched Shaped Framelit Dies
  • Lemon Lime Twist Layer - 3 1/2" x 3 1/2" to cut with Layering Square Framelits Dies
  • Whisper White Inside Layer - 4" x 5 1/4"
  • Early Expresso Scrap for the words

Let It Ride Birthday Card

Hello Friends!

I was asked to make a birthday card for a teenage girl that loves horses and also likes the color blue, so this is what I came up.  Do you like it?

I also love horses, so when I saw the Let It Ride Stamp Set in the Occasions Catalog, I had to have it, and I"m having fun with it.   I think the Crackle Paint Background Stamp is the perfect background with the horse.  Having the Stampin' Blends also make it easy to color the horses on cardstock.   Stampin' UP! has many options to coloring your projects i.e., Stampin' Blends, Watercoloring, Stampin' Write Markers or Watercolor Pencils.  The choice is yours.

All three layers on the Balmy Blue card base were cut with the Rectangle Stitched Framelits Dies.  I used Old Olive Classic Ink on the Crackle Paint Background Stamp and stamped it onto a piece of Soft Sea Foam cardstock.  The Soft Sea Foam and Balmy Blue look awesome together, and the Old Olive layer really makes the color combo pop!

These horses were also colored with the Stampin' Blends, and the sentiment  from the Pretty Kitty Stamp Set was stamped with Balmy Blue Classic Ink.

Measurements:

  • Balmy Blue Card Base - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" scored at 4 1/4"
  • Soft Sea Foam Layer - 4" x 5 1/4" stamped with the Crackle Paint background stamp in Old Olive and cut out with a large rectangle stitched framelits Dies
  • Old Olive Rectangle Stitched Framelit Layer - 3 1/2" x 4 3/4"
  • Whisper White Rectangled Stitched Framlit Layer - 4 1/2" x 3 1/8" and 4" x 5 1/2" for the inside layer
I'm very pleased with my masterpiece.  Let me know if you like it too , so please leave me a comment.  All you need to do is scroll down to the bottom of the post and click where it says "Read in Browser" or click on the highlighted title at the top of this post, and it will take you to todays post in your browser.  Scroll to the very bottom and leave a comment in the comment section.  By clicking over to your browser to read my blog posts, you will also see a slide show of samples.
