Christmas Gift Card Holder

Hello Friends!

How about a Christmas Card with a gift card holder?  I created this card for my team challenge.  Each month we have a team challenge and this time , we had to create a gift card holder, so I created a Christmas gift card holder.

I used the Dashing Deer Stamp set and Detailed Deer Thinlits Dies for this card.  This pretty deer was stamped on whisper white cardstock, but instead of using classic ink, I used the Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint.  I shook up the ink really well and  poured some onto a stamping sponge and dabbed it onto the stamp.  I dabbed it a couple of times, so that it didn't look juicy.  Otherwise the paint is going to spread and it won't look as pretty.

I really like the look of the shimmer paint on this deer.  It gives it just enough color with a hint of glitter.  The deer was cut out with the Detailed Deer Thinlits Dies as was the real red flower around the deers neck.  I also ran a piece of the Shaded Spruce cardstock through the Big Shot with the Corrugated Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. and adhered it to the Under The Mistletoe Designer Series Paper.

The paper for the gift card holder is same designer paper used on the front of the card.  The sentiment on the gift card holder is from the Merry Christmas To All Stamp Set, and the sentiment and  swags on the right side of the card is from the Dashing Deer stamp set, and were stamped with Real Red Classic Ink.

You can also put the gift card in the holder horizontally as well as vertically as shown.

This is a very easy gift card holder to make.  The following pictures will show you how to do it.

Cut a 6' x 6" piece of designer series paper

Fold the 2 diagonal corners to make a triangle as shown

Fold in the left corner as shown

Fold in the right corner to overlap the side.
I added a glue dot to secure the 2 pieces

Fold down one piece of the top layer and secure with a glue dot.
Attach to your card with a strong adhesive.

Now, wasn't that an easy gift card holder to make?  My friend Susan showed me how to make it, and now I'm passing it on to you. It will only take a minute or two to make one, so why not give it a try!

Measurements:
Shaded Spruce - Base - 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"
Whisper White Layer - 4" x 5 1/4"
Under The Mistletoe DSP  Layer - 3 3/4" x 5"
Shaded Spruce Embossed Layer - 2 3/4" x 3 1/2"
Whisper White Inside Layer - 4" x 5 1/4"
Shaded Spruce for the Scaloped Oval 1 3/8" x 2 1/4"
Whisper White for Oval with the Sentiment - 1 1/8" x 2 1/4"
Under The Mistletoe DSP for the Gift Card Holder - 6" x 6"

I think it's nice when you can add a gift card is added to a card.  Just think of smile you'll put on someone's face when they open the card and find a gift card in it.  Everyone loves to get them, so they can buy whatever they want.
