Artistically Asian - Wishing You Well

Hello Friends!

I'm keeping it simple today with a card made from the Artistically Asian and Lasting Lily Stamp Sets.  This is a card that can be used for many different occasions, but I created it for a friends husband that suddenly became ill.

For the focal point on the top card, I used Very Vanilla cardstock and sponged the background with Balmy Blue and Crumb Cake Classic Ink and added a greeting and image with Early Expresso Classic Ink.

The next card is slightly different.

I omitted the greeting and used watercolor paper and with my Aqua Painter  watercolored the background with the same Balmy Blue and Crumb Cake Classic ink.  You can also watercolor on cardstock but, if you use too much water, the cardstock will pill.

Even though I used the same colors on both cards for the background, the colors on the watercolor paper look more vibrant.  Also, if you look closely the image on the watercolor paper is not as prominent because of the texture of the watercolor paper.  The ink gets absorbed into the paper.

I think both techniques are great.  It's just a matter of preference which technique you want to use and like best.

Sometimes, we don't know why things happen to us, so I feel this sentiment is reassuring to have faith in God, and there's still room to write a personal message.

Measurements:
Early Expresso Card Base - 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"
Balmy Blue Layer - 4" x 5 1/4"
Early Expresso Layer - 3 1/8" x 4 1/8"
Watercolor Paper/Very Vanilla - 3" x 4"
Very Vanilla Inside Layer - 4" x 5 1/4"

Sometimes we need to have cards like this on hand, and it seems we all struggle to create masculine cards for any occasion, so I think this works well for a masculine card.

The Artistically Asian Stamp Set is a great one to have in your collection for not only moments like this but also for happier times.  There are two other sentiments in the set, one for friendship and the other is a thank you.  This set is very versatile for both male/female.  I will be making more cards with this set to have on hand.
