Masculine Monday - Geared Up Garage

Happy Monday Everyone!

I hope everyone had a nice weekend.  I know I certainly did.  The weather here in Massachusetts has been extremely good for this time of the year.  We actually had a couple days in the mid 50s and 60s, so we can't complain.  So far, it's an extremely mild winter for us and I hope I don't jinx us.

It seems we all struggle to make masculine cards and what makes it easy is when we have masculine stamps to choose from.  In the Occasions Catalog, we have a few masculine stamps, and I just got one of them on Friday, so I'm sharing a card  I designed using the Geared Up Garage Stamp Set and Garage Thinlits Dies.

I tried something a little different with this card and at first, I wasn't sure if it was going to work, but it worked just fine.

I stamped the car from the Geared Up Garage Stamp Set with Staz-On Black Ink onto a piece of Silver Foil Sheet and let it dry really good before cutting it with the Garage Gears Thinlits Dies.  I know it may be difficult to see the shine from the silver foil but in person, it looks really good.  It's definitely a shiny silver car.

The Silver Foil car is popped up on a black foil oval that I cut out from the Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies.  The Black Foil Sheets were carried over from the Holiday Catalog.

The background on the Real Red cardstock was stamped with Tuxedo Memento Black Ink with a stamp from the One Wild Ride Stamp Set.  The black check paper is from the Botanical Butterfly Designer Series Paper.  The key is from the Classic Garage Metal Elements that is one of the products in the Classic Garage Suite as is the  Striped Metallic Ribbon that I used  to tie the key and to wrap the ribbon around the card.

The inside sentiment is from the Picture Perfect Birthday Stamp Set and was stamped in Tuxedo Memento Black Ink as was the background on the card.  A strip of the Botanical Butterfly Designer Series Paper pulls it all together.

Measurements:
Basic Black Card Base - 51/2" x 8 1/2" scored at 4 1/4"
Real Red Front and Inside Layers - 4" x 5 1/4"
Botanical Butterfly Designer4 Series Paper - 2 1/2" x 4"
Silver Foil for the Car - 2" x 3 1/2"
Black Foil for the Stitched Oval - 2" x 3 1/2"
Real Red Strip for Label - 1 3/4" x 3 5/16"
Silver Foil Strip for Label - 1 7/8" x 3 5/16"
Striped Metallic Ribbon  approximately 6"

I hesitated in getting this stamp set, but I'm glad I got it.   I really like this card, and I'll be using this set along with the other products in the Classic Garage Suite to make more masculine cards that I will feature in the coming weeks.   My husband had a car that looked similar to this one (different color) back in the 60s, so this card is for  MY CLASSIC HUBBY!
